06 Jun #177 – Growing Beyond Family Domestic Violence with Darcia Leonard (nee Ondrovcik)
Domestic violence is not a thing of pride hence, it should be stopped. Darcia is a super inspiring and empowering individual, having come from a background of domestic violence through her childhood to teenage years and then leaving the nest in Dubbo at the ripe age of 16 to try to make some positive changes to her life and “break the cycle” – she is a living, breathing example of a strong and beautiful woman inside and out that has “chosen” to live a life different to the one she had originally been dealt.
She tells her story on domestic violence not because she wants people to pity her or feel sorry for her but to show you can make something of your life no matter where you come from or what you’ve been through and she wants to help and support others to do the same.
Through her small group life coaching “Shift Experience” Programs, private mentoring and online training programs she aims to empower people, mainly women, who are victims of domestic violence to find a new perspective, heal old wounds and be able to change their lives for the better.
Darcia is extremely passionate about working to put a stop to domestic violence. She actively supports the Allison Bayden Clay Foundation to help raise money and awareness for victims of domestic violence.
During this episode she imparts advice, experience and perspective to help spread her message – Beauty in Strength: Deeper than Skin, Stronger than Appearance. It’s time to Break the Cycle!
